The Symphonic Metal Nights Tour 2018, held this valentines evening at the Camden Underworld, comprised of the bands Serenity, Visions of Atlantis, Sleeping Romance, and Secret Rule.
And it was a cracking evening. There was a bout of flu which had attacked a few members, resulting in a couple of cancelled performances later in the tour. But this was not noticeable on the night.
Here are shots of Serenity. As a special guest, the wonderful Melissa Bonny performed on some songs and it was an inspirational set from the band.
Highlights were the lovely acoustic songs and the popular Lionheart of course.
At the Underworld there is no pit, so its every man for themselves. I contented myself with a spot stage right on fenced ledge which was stage high. This I had to hold for the first three bands, and about five songs into Serenity’s set. Maybe with hindsight, I would have taken the area behind the sound board. The 90mm f2 Fuji lens was wonderful from around here, when I perched half way up some steps.
